I love this time of year.

Great weather, time to play in the pool, BBQ’s, and blowing up stuff.  Of course, in the great land of NY, almost all fireworks are outlawed for the normal citizen.

Now, I didn’t always lived here.  Down south my youth was filled with many Fourth of July nights firing off our own fireworks, bonfires on the beach, almost catching the car on fire from a flare gun, glow worms, ground spinners, sparklers, almost catching the neighbor’s tree on fire with an out of control tube rocket…. good times.

There are a lot of places in town to view some amazing displays of sparkly lights. Make sure to grab a blanket and some drinks, lay down and watch the show to remember the reason why we are celebrating this day.  Independence Day.
