A definition of a portrait:
- A painting, drawing, or photograph of a person that usually only includes the person’s head and shoulders
A detailed description of something or someone
A way of printing a page so that the shorter sides are on the top and bottom and the longer sides are on the left and right
I prefer the second definition with a little bit of embellishment: A portrait is a captured moment of a person’s life showing a particular emotion or personality.
That is the important part, their personality and emotion: doing what they love, whatever makes them, them. A portrait should define a person in that time of their life. So lose the inhibition and let’s have some fun!
So you have decided you would like a portrait taken?
Portrait sessions are preceded by a collaboration meeting between yourself and I. We will discuss your ideas, location, length of session, clothes, make up and hair, final product needs and pricing.
At least two weeks before our session, I will check in with you for any changes of plan.
Session day will be a blast so prepare yourself for some fun.
After the session you get to relax and the hard work falls to me to edit the images, which on average takes up to three weeks until I post them on a private site for you to view and share.
I will also schedule an in home consultation to go over the images with you.
